🔬 Overview
SS-31, also known as elamipretide, is a small tetrapeptide that concentrates in the inner mitochondrial membrane, where it interacts with a lipid called cardiolipin. Unlike most peptides that act on surface receptors, SS-31 works inside the cell at the mitochondria, the energy factories.
